Kirikiriroa (Hamilton) woman Adele Hauwai is the innovator behind SeeCom, a social enterprise which is developing the world’s first digital interactive sign language game. SeeCom is a Social Enterprise offering signing expertise, classes and resources that merge signing and technology.
12year old Hamilton Boys High School student, Christian, stole the show at Innes 48 business competition, where he competed with his family, with their business concept Marae BnB, which was an idea to invigorate Marae through allowing tourists. His team took home Peoples Choice and Best Pitch award.
Isaac Warbrick is one of the Directors of 'The Journeys of Manu'. "‘Ko nga Haerenga a Manu’ (The Journeys of Manu), provides a digital platform for cultural (re)connection and uses 'Manu', a digital character, to tell the stories of Iwi specific to locations.
Kawana is the founder of myReo Studios, a Maori game development company that makes bilingual educational software for people connecting to our unique culture in Aotearoa, to re-engage and revive our language, tikanga and culture in an era of growing cultural diversity and inclusion.
Kodee is the founder of Jacal-B, an on-demand artificial intelligence athlete development team. This platform is aimed at helping athletes access high performance training at the touch of the button.
Founded in 2016, Arataki Cultural Trails innovates and disrupts the art of cultural storytelling. We are a tech company based in Tauranga, NZ, and are wholly owned and run by Māori tech entrepreneurs. We have career backgrounds in Māori storytelling, technology and Iwi information.
Maru Nihoniho is the founder of Metia Interactive, a game studio based in Auckland, New Zealand established in 2003. They create game assets ranging from 2D illustrations to complex 3D modelling. They are licensed to develop across multiple platforms from PlayStation to mobile.
Six years ago Taaniko Nordstrom took some photos on her iPad of herself dressed up in a mixture of traditional Māori and colonial clothing. It turned out to be the genesis of Soldiers Rd Portraits, a company she set up with her sister-in-law creating portraits of people in indigenous dress.
