The “environment whispers” preserving our our natural assets and communities
The local community and technology enthusiasts in Raglan recognize conditions which negatively impact the natural character of this coastal playground including pollution, climate change, poor water quality and waste management. Collaboratively they are working to leverage existing innovative mindsets and initiatives. The ongoing goal is to develop services that facilitate regenerative development and use data to inform how the community can ensure the township and surrounds remain adaptive and resilient into the future.
World leading technical and scientific experts, who call this beachside town home, will present a mix of IoT technology currently being used to address these issues.
Learn about the future of coastal environments, their communities, and the importance of sustainable practice. Raglan will continue to innovate and inform a behavioural change in terms of environmental and coastline protection and management locally, nationally and globally.
Toward more self-aware, and healthier citizens, cities and regions
Hear how Zealong, the pioneers of the New Zealand tea industry, use innovation and technology in establishing New Zealand's only commercial tea estate and producing international award-winning tea.
Ventures Health will then talk about the work they are doing to centralise patient data to enable better access and future plans around developing proactive primary care services using Internet of Things technology.
Learn how residential services provider, Community Living Limited, is supporting people in their homes using Internet of Things technology, with a focus on Fire Safety.
Attendees will then get to meet Daphne, one of two first-of-their-kind clinical robots being trialed through the Waikato DHB's virtual care program.
On farm productivity, preventive maintenance and preservation
Visit Paeroa, official birth place of the internationally recognised Lemon & Paeroa soft drink, to hear a number of examples of the application of Internet of Things technology contributing to NZs agritech sector and reputation for producing high-quality, innovative and safe products.
Presentations will highlight how the Internet of Things is enhancing the benefit and value NZ primary industries provide locally and globally.
Speakers will cover the opportunities for primary industries from low power Internet of Things, examples of the application of sensor technology locally, some of the related challenges and lessons learnt, and we will see presentations of Internet of Things projects from local senior school students.
Connecting the physical and digital worlds to benefit residents and visitors
Learn how Internet of Things technology is helping to collect valuable insights to facilitate the co-creation, management and maintenance of smart and attractive urban environments and spaces for residents and visitors.
We start with how current and near future objectives of data intelligence solutions have a multitude of information connections within our living environments and see a SmartCloud platform demo, then delve into common mistakes that are resulting in Internet of Things initiatives not progressing past proof of concept, before hearing about the work being done to improve the visitor experience at Hamilton Gardens as an element of an innovative suite of data processing tools and mobile apps as part of a framework for participatory urban design.
There will be other examples of technology solutions using Internet of Things on hand for those interested in exploring.
