Technology as a Game Changer in the Public Sector

Wed 23 May 5:30 — 7:30pm

NZTA's Innovation Zone, 105 Cook Street, Auckland, New Zealand

Public sector innovation that's good for New Zealanders.
This event has already happened!

Showcasing some of the technology focused initiatives within the public sector that are revolutionising the way services are delivered, and customers' needs are met.

With speakers from the NZ Transport Agency and the Department of Internal Affairs, this event is an opportunity to hear about emerging tech projects that improve access, equality and safety of public services.

In the public sector, innovation that improves accessibility and equality of services is innovation that’s good for New Zealand, and New Zealanders.

Martin McMullan and Kristen Gyorgak, NZ Transport Agency - We’re on the cusp of a transport revolution. The Transport Agency’s work on mobilityOS is about giving customers choice and connecting people to their transport options - where they are, wherever they are going, however they would like to travel, and using the technology already in their pockets.

Kirkpatrick Mariner, Department of Internal Affairs - New Zealand was recognised as one of the top digital economics in the world by the Fletcher School. How do we sustain our position? And how do we keep evolving to meet our citizens' needs?

In order to construct a future state, that helps us define here we are heading and how we might get there, a Blueprint for Digital Inclusion will be developed. DIA and MBIE will be working with the newly established Digital Economy & Digital Inclusion (DEDI) Ministry Advisory Group to ensure the sector has its voice so we are providing a coherent direction for digital inclusion.
