GridAKL / 101 Pakenham St W, 101 Pakenham St W, Auckland

BOAM is New Zealand’s first Bitcoin Open Air Market, a dedicated space for Kiwis to learn about Bitcoin and buy/sell small amounts of it.
This event has already happened!

What is BOAM?
BOAM is New Zealand’s first Bitcoin Open Air Market, a dedicated space for Kiwis to buy and sell small amounts of Bitcoin off each other as well as socialise and chat about all things crypto!

What will happen on the night?
BOAM is geared towards Bitcoin beginners. This is an event for people to 'dip their toes’ in the water of cryptocurrency. It is not designed for people to make money, but to interact with Bitcoin in a very real/tangible way.

We will kick off the evening with a introductory talk about what Bitcoin is, it's history, its benefits and best practices to buying, selling and storing Bitcoin. From there we will have have a live Bitcoin price ticker and there will be some Bitcoin experts on hand to help anyone setup a Bitcoin wallet and help make a successful Bitcoin trade.

If you don’t have any Bitcoin and would like to purchase a small amount in person then come along with a smartphone, a $20, $50 or $100 note (max $100) and buy your first Bitcoin! If you have some Bitcoin and would like to sell it in person please come along with your Bitcoin wallet (but note we are encouraging a $100 limit on each trade).

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BUY BITCOIN TO TURN UP. You can simply come along, watch some trades, socialise and have some crypto fun. BOAM is a very friendly and relaxing night. The idea is to give as many people the opportunity to access this revolutionary technology and help grow Bitcoin uptake in New Zealand.

Where is it?
BOAM! will be held at GRID AKL (101 Pakenham St W, Auckland, 1010), a fantastic space in the city that embraces innovation and startups.
